To overcome the weak conduction heat transfer of phase change materials (PCM), this investigation aimed to assess behavior a double-tube latent storage unit with circular fins through charging process. The influence free convection in presence various arrangements and sizes was comprehensively studied. geometrical characteristics fins, i.e., their size number, were assessed optimize performance. Moreover, sensitivity assessment performed on fluid passing inner tube, Reynolds number temperature. Charging time diminished by 179% when nine 15 mm added compared finless scenario, assuming same volume. system’s thermal recovery rate improved from 20.5 32.9 W heigth added. use more because higher total fin area. melting changed 76% 71%, respectively, for system 19 those four fins. outcomes indicated that can be achieved working medium’s faster flow inlet temperature used.
